Bishop Chosen as WCHS Principal

The Warren County Board of Education approved Ja'net Bishop as the next principal of Warren County High School. Mrs. Bishop is currently serving as an assistant principal at Evans High School in Columbia County. She will be joining WCHS on March 26th.

Mrs. Bishop brings a long and distinguished record of service not only in the area of education, but to her community and country as well. In addition to serving as an assistant principal at Evans, Mrs. Bishop has served as the school counselor/assistant principal addressing discipline at Columbia County's alternative school. Bishop has also served as the school counselor for Harlem High School from 1996-1999. In 2000/2001, she was chosen as a member of the SACS Review Team for Calhoun County Middle & High School in Ediston, Ga. Mrs. Bishop played an integral part in the development and management of several school-wide programs including the Character Education/Advisement Program at Evans, the Peer Mediation and Very Involved Parent programs at Harlem Middle School, and the Vital Link program for at-risk students and their parents for all of Columbia County.

Mrs. Bishop has served as a valuable part of the community since being moved to Augusta while serving in the military. She comes to us highly recommended by the Columbia County Juvenile Court for her work as a consultant regarding at-risk youth. Mrs. Bishop has been involved with both the Richmond and Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, Warren County's Youth Leadership Program, and the Augusta Child Advocacy Center. Mrs. Bishop has also developed and presented many workshops relative to family and children's issues and effective parenting to civic groups and other community organizations.


Mrs. Bishop gained valuable leadership skills while serving her country in the United States Army. While in the military, Bishop received her commission and served in Operation Desert Storm.

Mrs. Bishop is married to William Bishop, a teacher and coach at Morgan Road Middle School in Hephzibah, Georgia. They have two sons, William and Matthew. William is in the 12th grade at Evans High School and Matthew is also at Evans in the 11th grade.
